Just removing the clamp will not pop the boot off. Definitely take the clamp off before installing a hose clamp. Wipe down around the seam to remove grease first. I do not have stiffer springs, but I have had clamps on my original boots for over 40k miles(most of them lifted) with no problems. I believe I was the first member to use the hose clamps. My truck is at almost 140000 miles as of today.

Ok thanks, Ill stop on way home tomorrow to get the 2nd clamp. Fingers crossed boot stays on while i put new clamp on lol. I just figured with the big angle they are at and the drivers side wouldnt stay on by itself to install clamp the other side would be same way.

If they come off again, you're a good candidate for aftermarket CVs. They have a more pliable boot.

Ill do some hunting cause I know the boot I just fixed was stiff as heck.

But least it happened now instead of on trail where it would pick up mud and rock
