I had the same exact thing happen after I lifted my TB, I did what most everyone else did. I inspected the boot repacked with grease and slaped a hose clamp on it all has been good since. The paint looks great man.

Anyone else have a trick to help slip the boot back on ?

Will be buying cardone replacements and new wheel bearings but need this as my DD till I can get the new parts delivered and installed .

Until you get the replacements, cut the smaller (outside) band off and slip the inside on. Install a new clamp after gearing heavily of course. Then leave it alone.

FYI it's be reported that Cardone tripods don't have as much angle range as the factory ones do...

Little late, but if you rotate the wheel while pushing to boot back on, it should seat. Also, that is pretty much a lighter version of the paint job I want. Your truck will once again be one of the sickest lifted tb's. I am feeling inspired.

Yeah, found that the other day when I was doing an oil change. Spitting grease all over the place on both sides. Haven't decided what I'm going to do yet, but I might just end up replacing them since they have over 101k on them. That'll give me a chance to get the 1/2" spacers on the front anyways.

Mine had 130000 on the one I replaced and the other factory has 140,000 and still going strong. I did grease it jic.

That's why I'm still debating. I know I'll have to do it eventually. I'll think on it a while I guess

Darn, and I know you don't baby it, and I don't beat mine to absolute death like an idiot kid with a lead foot. I'm guessing sand infiltration because that's the main difference in our trail situations. Hmmmmm.

Bill, I didn't know you'd destroyed one... or are you talking about grease ejection?
