GM #15125887 on indefinite backorder

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Chris said it well, so I'll only add this:
If you find yourself topping out the shock too often, then cutting the end of the spring will give you a lower resting height, so you have more downward articulation to soak up bumps.

Randy, I think we are miscommunicating the "down" word (as it can be a bit ambiguous).

I was referring to it as "if you wish to bring your resting height down relative to the ground".

I think you may be referring to it as "if you wish to bring your max down articulaton down relative to the body".

Agreed, but how is the stiffer spring going to change the ability of the cv to turn when full downward travel will not change from one spring to another?

It shouldn't, where did you get that?

Maybe I've misread this last few postings but I thought Michael meant to do this after changing springs and I didn't see how it would change anything.
="DirtyBacon04"]roger that. Thanks guys.
Couldnt I just test it by lifting the front end by the frame to see if I'm getting any CV binding? or should I drive it with the springs for a while to see where they settle?

nah, no one here is dumb. It just takes us a while to get certain concepts, like me and offset vs backspace!

great. now gmpartsgiant is giving my lip because my "shipping address doesn't match that of my bank account". However my billing address is a PO box which i know they wont ship to. So i try shipping it to Bill's house, but they say NAY! The first website that I've seen that operates like this.

Yeah, the 89s seem to be the only real option unless you go way down the list (86 or 85s?). I've gotten some pops on a couple of occasions while turning at lock on a steep incline with the sway bar disconnected. I might have had it once before the sway bar was disconnected but I wasn't able to recreate it. The only other issue I've had with 89s is keeping boots on the joints but that is seemingly solved.
Any other issue I've had has been my own doing and knowing to not lock the steering wheel has eliminated the pop.
Disconnecting the front sway bar significantly relieved the stiffness in the front suspension.
I think it's probably the best solution given our options

nah, the droop wont be bad. You'll just likely bottom out more (depending on what size tires you're running). I'm rolling with ALL the armor from mike on 81s!! I'll bottom out leaving a parking lot with my 33s. Waiting on the 89s in the mail.

86 will give you some improvement over the sag, but prob not much lift over where you were before the weight was added.

Do you think 86 and marks 3" will keep it level?

There are a lot of factors involved. What's the rear setup? What's weighing down the cargo area? What's weighing down the front end?

89s are probably too much for mark's 3" anyways, so 86 is your only other option.

The rear setup is marks 2.5" (i think thats what he sells with 3" lift), z71, and fox shocks. The front will be mikes bumpers and skids, bilstein struts, and 86. The only thing my rear will have weighing it down will be some subs and amps, and my dogs since I usually take them with me.

It might have a small amount of forward rake since you have nothing in your cargo area.

I've gotta ask, by the sound of the suspension setup you must be fairly serious about off-roading. Why do you not have a full recovery kit/tools/hilift/full size spare in the rear?
