Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

:flex dirty: hey guys , this friday i am getting the goodyear wrangler duratracs in 255 75 17, was wondering if anyone has ran them before or currently has them. or another tire in the same size.. i have a 3 inch suspension lift and 2 inch spacers.. pretty sure i wont encounter any rubbing as i dont even have the front bumper on but id sure like to know otherwise.. thanks

also i am interested in a hitch gate tire mount for the towing hitch but i am not sure what brand is best for the price :flex dirty: :flex dirty: `

ps i have a 2006 tb ls i6 mostly stock besides the lift and spacers and some personal mods to remove the annoying abs and traction control ( i know how to drive and dont need anything trying to drive for me)

The sticky at the top of this very forum, perhaps?

ive alredy seen it plenty of times.. i was simply trying to start a conversation on the specific tires seeing as the chart says id be good i am sure every situation is unique and the chart isnt 100% accurate, that and under the trim section it is marked as unkown so that is another reason i could ask about the tires..... not a very welcoming forum when my first thread is greeted with the obvious

You'd be surprised how many peoples' first post is something that's already in a sticky, and they have no idea, because they haven't looked around before posting.

Probably the place for the question is in that post, so all the information is kept together, but either way.

I know James Downing and a couple others have run that size on stock wheels with 1.5" spacers and not had to trim any bodywork.

It's cool, man. We just try and consolidate stuff as much as we can, so it's easier to find in the future.

Yea bro like mike said, it's all been asked/explained/ranted/raved/drawn out before. That been said I run bfg mud terrains in that size. I had to trim the inner front fender, it rubbed when I backed up at any sort of pitch.

I have them, pics in my build, same issue, cut a little corner off the flap and problem solved.

I have 285/70/17s with stock wheels and 1.5" spacers now that don't rub. The key is to adjust in a little extra caster. The extra caster does wonders for fitting larger tires.

I couldn't even begin to think how caster and camber are done on our vehicles

It's all done at the lower a arm bracket, move it forward to get a lil more caster and out for a lil more camber.

If you've read the stickies and have done a lil searching you're far better than many who start out here. As Mike said, it's pretty surprising really. Frequently after we point out the stickies they find their questions are answered there. We may come off a bit abrasive, and in my experience that kinda par for the course in a group of men, especially in this hobby, but it's helped many a people. For example, we have a guy that went from not owning enough tools to put in a lift and was scared to even attempt it that's in the middle of a solid axle swap!

Yeah I just looked it up, my front tires have extreme wear about 2 inches on the out side of the tire on both tires, when I get my new tires tomorrow I'm gonna find a reputable shop to do my alighnment and I'll make sure they fix my camber. My first build thread will be replacing all my ball joints , control arms and front struts.

you might be best served by moving those to the back when you get aligned so it doesn't affect the steering.

So I obviously have too much positive camber so I would have to move the brackets outward. My question is, do I need to looses or remove any other suspension component in order to adjust the bracket or can I just loosen it and move it independently. I did my alighnment on my impala ss with laser levels so I may just do this myself

You have to adjust your toe if you adjust the lower A arm bracket's position.

moving the front tires with the bad wear to the rear...

As far as the alignment goes, I've done the driveway alignment too. With good success. But as James mentions, you've got to basically adjust everything. If you're off it's not terribly forgiving.

I plan on replacing the lower and upper arms along with the ball joints and tie rod ends, once that is done I'll do somewhat of a basic full alighnment then take it to a shop to have them so it precise

Oh well I am getting new tires tomorrow so I won't have to worry about rotating the tires from front to rear, also another note. I've seen threads on here and other sites stating that discount tire doesn't work with vehicles that have spacers. But it seems they have changed their policy because I called and as along as they are bolt on and not free floating they have no problem doing it
