Balancing Beads?

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

I know this is an old thread but a friend of mine mentioned this to me for balancing my new tires when I get them over weights. Are there any new opinions or findings on whether or not the balancing beads are a reliable product to use over weights?

I ran airsoft pellets in the 37s on my Yota. As soon as I weld on my beadlocks I'll use them with my 39.5s as well. They work.

The TB has weights.

I run air soft bbs in mine, roughly 17oz per tire in 40s with real aluminum beadlocks. This is a package of 2000 of the heavy bbs.

Works great till about 90mph.

well I don't plan on going 90mph so I guess i'll buy the real stuff and hopefully it works well...I just don't want to pay the 100 bucks for 4 tires balanced.

I had mine road force balanced, it was a pretty penny and the guy seemed to have trouble getting one within spec. I have considered these but still not too sure. I guess once I rotate the rear tires to the front ill see just how well they balanced them.

Can you use the beads with weights already on the rims, or no?

I wont run them again. Maybe I didn't have enough in them, but they would work sometimes and other times not. Took em out and went road force balance and they were smooth as could be. But thats just me. I know I've heard them working for others...

Hmmm ill have to put a lot of thought into this one, the shop I work at has the machine to balance with weights and all that. It's a hard decision when it works for people but doesn't work for others. Kinda turns me off to getting them when I could just pay a few extra for weights and balance it myself on the machine.
