Did Procomp start making them finally? 8089's were discussed on the OS in this thread:    TrailVoy Thread   and they were just vaporware. 6089s in chrome were available, and used by at least Gearhead2012, who hasn't logged in there since March.

Can you call and see if these are TRULY on the market? The backspacing means some folks could use these instead of spacers for some tire sizes.

Haven't made the call yet, but anyone that wants to is welcome to... I've found 3 websites that show this exact rim in our lug pattern... Procomp website itself, this one, and Truckaddons.com

Truckaddons shows two model numbers for the 16x8 6x5 wheels, same backspacing, no note on finish... Can anyone differentiate them? I'm googling it too, but maybe somebody else will have better luck..

Nevermind, it's a typo on the truckaddons website... 8089-6856 is the correct part #

Damnit, that's another thing I need to add to the list... that way, I can get the 33's I always wanted!

you don't need a x8, x9, 0r x10 to fit 33's unless they're 305/70/17 then you need an 8 inch rim. I have a bunch of friends with jeeps and old Chevy's and they run up to 345's (13.5) on an 8 inch rim one of the reasons companies put those numbers is to cover their asses just in case, also becuase it warrants the purchase of new rims too, which they can typically cash in on. On a daily driver tho you might want to come a bit closer, but for most 33's your stockers are ok.

Mine is a daily driver, and I just like that extra margin of safety. If I really, really needed to have 33's with my current setup, I'd go with 255/85/16's and not have to worry.

I ran 31-13.5-15 on a 15-8 rim and the tread did seperate, so there may be a reason for the suggested widths over trying to sell more rims.

with that small of a side wall, i can understand it... a 13.5 wide tire on a 15 inch rims with a 8 inch side wall is alot less then the 9.5 inch side wall of a 35 inch tire, that extra 1.5 inches is quite a bit when it comes to fitting wide tires as you know. Just sawing it is possible to fit them, i have 285/75/16 on the stock rims and have no issues, they fit on the rims with no problems, and i have no issues while aired down or anything.

Yep. I would rather have my wheels too narrow than stretching a tire to fit.

Haha exactly, if a tire strectes to fit then obviously a bigger rim is needed. What with do you have for your 305's?

I have 17x9. They sit nicely. I thought 285 would be too narrow for them.

Bigger? You mean smaller, right?

If your rim is over-sized for the tire and your tire is stretching to fit, it's exceedingly easy to pop a bead, thus why it's better to oversize your tire width than your rim width.

Haha my bad, I read it wrong... exactly though a smaller rim is better than one too big.

Would a 315 fit on a 16x10 without the rim spacer with a rim with 4.5 backspacing... Hardtrailz, you'd be best to answer this question.

Not the best, but I can say that the 315 should be ok on the 10 inch width. I looked around and found some pics and they sit pretty well.

Backspacing is not my thing. I got lucky with the 15's I found to clear with just under 4 inch BS and 1.3 in spacers. I am not sure about backspacing at all without spacers. I woould think they would fit pretty good, but there are better answers lingering in our other members.

What I'm looking for is if i could run those rims or any rims with our lug pattern without spacers with a tire that big, so its really limited by the backspacing. I know the tire will fit the 10 inch or 8 inch but what i'm curious to see is if it will fit right and clear the upper BJ...
