LT, no contest. LT tires have thicker sidewalls and tread carcass, with more plies. This makes them much more resistant to sidewall punctures and such. The first time I went to TECORE with P-rated Destination AT tires, they preformed really well, traction-wise, but I popped one sidewall, and 1 other one was through the cords, but still held air from the rubber on the inside of the plies, and just barely got me home. I've had these 10-ply BFG AT tires off road I don't even know how many times, and the only punctures I've had in them are nails, and 2 of those didn't even go all the way through the carcass, and didn't leak.
