I made this for all of you, like myself, who want or purchased good All Terrain tires without breaking the bank. You can buy all the tires below for UNDER $800 FOR A SET OF FOUR. Please continue to add to this list, and rate your experience with any of these "cheap" all terrain tires. Enjoy!

My buddy put some AT tires on his s10 for cheap. Kenda brand and they did surprisingly good at Haspin Offroad park for stock size. He loves them.

I have the Definity Dakota A/T's and like them a lot. I have 255/70-16's. Just be careful with Pep-Boys. What they don't tell you is have to buy the road hazard warranty, in order to get the rebate. It ends up coming out to full price for a whole set of tires.

Yes ^^ Very true, in my situation it came out about $50 cheaper after getting the road hazard program but considering I do go off roading, its nice to know that my new tires will be replaced at a highly discounted rate if they ever blow. The road hazard plan also covers unlimited tire repair and unlimited tire rotations. After the road hazard, mount, balance, and tax, everything came out to about $600. Still an incredible deal for some suprisingly good tires.

I was quoted Toyo Open Country AT2 for $642 OTD. It looks like online they run about $10 more each.
They seem to have really good reviews online but I like the tread pattern of the General Grabber AT2 better.

seems like the last time I bought tires from walmart it was something similar.
they charge like $6 each to replace the valve stem and $9 to balance or something like that but for $10 you could get the road hazzard warranty that would include the valve stem and balance.

The General Grabbers are awesome looking tires, but the Toyos aren't bad looking either. The Toyos have a sweet looking shoulder and sidewall. The Generals just seem more aggressive. That may mean that the Generals may be louder, but I have never been in anything with either of these tires so I wouldnt know.

there are several guys on here running the Grabber's.
I'm going to price the two through my local shop. If the Grabber's aren't much more $$$ I'll go with them.
If they are a good bit more, I may get the Toyos.

The Grabbers Are awsome!! They are not loud at all got a nice hum buts its only noticable with windows down and driving at anything less than 30mph(265-70/17). The Grabbers have done me well for what I have put them through. I got all 4 of mine for 660 shipped from discount tire to my door. I had a chance to use them in the snow once and they supprised me to say the least.

The Toyo Open Country AT2 are great tires. They are used on all of our farm trucks both here in Ohio and Michigan. The only gripe about them is that we generally only get about 45000 miles out of them instead of the stated 65000. I figure it's just because the tires spin because of the power needed when going out of the gravel driveway directly onto a 60mph road.

Never had a problem with them cleaning out. Back in October when I went to the Fall Color Tour in Pellston(put on by a local Offroad Club which I joined) it was raning all day and the trails we were on were all mud. Portions of the trails were Logging roads that we had to go up which had some narly muddy ruts. The AT2 made it up those hills like it was nothing. I almost got stuck once due to the jeeper infront of me, but the Grabbers dug me right out.

I luckily haven't had to use the road hazard program from Pep-Boys yet. They did tell me how it works though. The first 90 days of the tires is no questions asked, repair or replacement. After that, they measure the tread depth, and pro-rate, based off of that. Don't know how much the actual discount on a tire would be, but I don't imagine it would be much. Still, better than nothing.

There is a post on the GMT facebook page about the AT2 having an issue with cords "stretching" or something and the guys tires are junk now. I could not figure it out, but may be worth some research to see if that is a typical issue.

thanks Kyle for the advice, I hadn't heard that before.
I couldn't find the post on the GMTN facebook page.
I did look at some reviews online. On 1010 tires they get a 4.1/5 rating (45 reviews) and on tirebuyer.com the get 4.7/5 (183 reviews). They seem to get good reviews here as well.

I'll let you guys know which way I go.

Kyle, you were referring to the General Grabber AT2 and not the Toyo Open Country AT2, correct? It sounds like what we used to call a "broke belt". If you had one in the sidewall, it was usually ok but in the tread it would bubble up and bounce down the road.

Grabber.

He was saying he had an unfixable hole in the tread. Plugs n patches would not work due to belt/cord issues....not broke but "stretched".

I know all about broken belts. I worked at the local tire/repair shop/gas station for over 5 years. I found a busted belt in the sidewall of voltages truck last time i was under it. Found a nasty bubble. Goodyear sorta helped him n mildly assisted w purchase of another.
