285/75/16 ssr radial = 33.9

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

I know i have seen a few threads about guys wanting a true 33 or even a thirty four inch tire and there really aren't many choices. Or even guys wanting swampers but don't want the bias tire. I was looking at Interco and i really liked the new M-16 radial, but in my searching i saw that they are boasting there SSR radial is shown to be measuring out to 33.9 using there 285/75/16. If this is the case, thats an option for the guys who want swamper with out compromising for a bias tire. Just thought I would put this out there, i know some don't feel swampers belong on a tb/envoy.
thoughts to discuss?

Check that wheel size.

I looked at their site but found no links listed their tires.

As far as certain tires don't seem right on our trucks-screw who says that! We do what we want. That's obvious.

I don't believe the manufacturers specs for shit but I did think my old 35 inch ssr were the best street swampers I ever owned. However someone else liked them more and stole them. Put 10000 miles on the, and they wore decent but not as good offroad as other swampers.
I would be surprised if they were 33 on a truck.

I would agree not believing factory specs, but from what i was looking at on other sites and forums it seems fairly true. Others have ran the same size tire, then switched to these and they say there is a bit of difference in height overall. Im sure its not a huge amount of course, but your right, once on a truck and inflated probably down pretty good.
Im at a crossroad since the 295/75 M16 says to be 33.8 i think and cost 50 more per tire then the 285/75 SSR. which is about the same size from what results are showing. I have Ran bias tsl's on a daily driver and i honestly liked then. Tire noise doesn bother me lol.

Never ran the m16 but heard good things. I had tsl sx and they were my favorite, but one of the sets I ran seperated and I lost about a 4x4 section of tread. The worst I had from interco were the thornbirds. Cool looking all terrain but blew 2 out in a couple hundred mile trip. They only had a few thousand miles on they._

Yea i have read all kinds of reviews on the m16 and all seen to be pretty good. I think it was fourwheeler mag that said interco could have been a little more giving on the siping on them but all in all pretty good. Even same with the ssr, good reviews but downfall like you said not the highest rated swamper for off road. So as much as i was wanting the M16 right before i placed my order i stopped to look at the ssr a bit more. But i figure i would bring it up for others who might be interested in them.

If you don't mind running 18" wheels, my 295/70/18's measure a hair under 34" on my truck
