Lunchbox Locker in the rear

Who has a lunchbox locker in the rear axle of their jeep? I have heard mixed feelings of it in the back, with noise, behavior, and lifespan being the big topics.

It will be in a Ford 8.8, so the strength of axle will not be a consideration. The appeal of the lunchbox style locker https://10carbest.com/lunchbox-lockers is the price. For a little over $200 for an Aussie, it doesn't seem too much different than a Detroit Soft Locker, which is like $600 for my application. I know the design differences between the two, but I'm not sure it is worth the double in price. DANG, an Ected selectable is cheaper than a Detroit! What gives?

I've got one in my TrailJeepBlazer.
It's not an ideal product, but there is more good than bad. I would much prefer a selectable locker over lunchbox, but lunchbox over open diff.
In soft sand/mud, sometimes unlocked will be easier to keep the vehicle moving. Parking lots and slow speed turn i hear the inside tire chirping, but it's not too bad. I drive rather conservatively, so mine has lasted 4+ years and 4 cross country trips and hundreds of miles of trails.

I got that powertrax no slip bs, its not noisy (at all), but i haven't gotten to really test it out yet to know if its worth shit.

I have one in my TB2.0 with GM 8.6 rear going on 6 years now p/n 9207863005. I just blew the springs out of it. Called powertrax and got p/n 8001-001-KAV new spring kit from Amazon $19.42. When I'm in the mud at my hunting grounds it's badass but on the pavement, in the rain or snow I spin tires. "That Sucks"
