Anderson PowerPole Connectors

Dumping ground for offroad Trailblazer or Envoy general discussion.

by teebes » Thu Sep 17, 2009 2:54 pm

I'm finally getting off my butt to order up some APP connectors to wire up my trailer battery to my truck's aux circuit. I'm thinking about cutting up some jumper cables to mimic what Roadie has from Warn, a quick disconnect jumper cable too.

Anyone else want some APP's while I'm ordering some up? I'm going w/ the SB175 4guage: http://www.powerwerx.com/anderson-powerpoles/powerpole-sets/sb175-sb-series-175-amp.html along with some other little goodies.

Yeah, I'll take one connector just to have a spare. Got a trailer bubble level for ya, although it's not worth as much as these connectors. Just keep track of what you use from the QuickFist bag. It's like sharing school lunches with you, fella.

If you want anything from Camping World, I have a membership already paid for if you didn't cough up their $25 or whatever they get nowadays.

Sounds good! So far I used one of the QF on the hilift to keep it from rattling like crazy. I lost one of my velcro straps during our last trip :slap:

Do you need a different size APP, or is the 175/4 guage work for you? I'm going w/ the color grey, btw.

This is exactly what I had gotten for my winch. After getting the 350 amp plugs, I realized the more important spec is the wire gauge. If your wire isn't right; good luck soldering or crimping the wires in the terminals.

I thought I'd save money by going off of Ebay on my purchase, but including shipping I ended up paying like $40. Which was the best price I could find at the time.

This time I'm not messing with Ebay, and going to Expedition Exchange:

http://www.expeditionexchange.com/superwinch/ then scroll down a bit. $35 + shipping. Not bad because it includes the dust boots! Rated for 2-4 AWG wire.

Just an alternative. They're all the same anyways, it seems Anderson has a pretty tight patent squeeze on the market. Warn, Superwinch, etc all use the same thing. I beleive it's the NA standard.

I checked. That size is what I already have on my stuff, so we stay interoperable. On second thought get two for me and I'll whip up an accessory I've always wanted to have. You have an Optima or an AGM batt in your menagerie, right?

Connectors arrived :lurk:

Now for the wiring. Anyone have recommendations on coupled, weatherproof wire? I'm tempted to cut up some 4 guage jumper cables.
