Rugged Guide - Dynamic Rope Video

Dumping ground for offroad Trailblazer or Envoy general discussion.

I found this as overall a good video showing the use of a dynamic strap. The descriptions are good, and it shows how the momentum is transferred between vehicles well. It also shows well how the dynamic strap works better in poor terrain than a static strap/pull.

However, I had a big problem with them using a trailer ball hitch. Despite them having a safety lynch tied around the strap, it still has the potential of allowing the strap to go flying, or worse... shearing off the trailer ball and slinging a pound of steel.

Overall good, but I just didn't like their use of the standard ball hitch.

That seems to be a European trailer ball, where AFAIK the whole part is usually one piece (the ball and the mounting arm or whatever it's called), not like the American ones that are 2 pieces. And a lot of time it's not interchangeable like the American systems where you can have a trailer ball, a bike rack, a shackle, etc.
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.
