Hey all, im about to styart replacing and upgrade my front end and one of the things on the list is HD TRE's.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-PCS-GMC-SIERR ... 18&vxp=mtr

Saw these and it says the part numbers are the MOOG parts. Has anyone bought these yet? And do the sleeves from rough country work on these?

Another quick question, I need to buy Front LCA's and i see rockauto has the Mevotech ones for 84.95. Are these worth it or should i stop being cheap and get the moog ones?

Thanks guys!
Only victory red TB I see on here lol

IDK about those parts but this should help you out.

BTW if you get the GM TRE no drilling is needed.

You have seen my truck and those sleeves in person, and could look at my build thread. Do not purchase mevotech

upgraded TREs are a double edged sword, in my opinion. Yes, you're less likely to break a TRE. But Roadie made a good point that having the stock TRE in there acts as a mechanical fuse.
A lot easier to replace a TRE on the trail than a rack/pinion... I'm still running stocks, and have a second pair of stocks as spare.

It's even been debated whether or not the HDs are any stronger than stocks where they need to be.

Weren't a few of us having failures at the ball/socket? If so, the size and strength of the HD vs. stock is the same. Unless the straight TREs change the geometry from the stock curved ones.

I've yet to have a TRE failure (knock on wood), so I'm just going off of what others post.

Ive taken out two sets of inners at the ball/socket, never experienced snapping an outer. Im thinkin i can keep the ones i have on now and buy spares for T11. I can invest in armor instead. I think im gonna buy these mostly bc its through paypal so if these parts are shit ill send them back lol

Moots and I have the same set up. I'm pleased with the form and function. I bought those cheap eBay TREs and bent one right away at Tecore. I would Not recommend cheap 2500 TREs for our use.

I have a set of those cheap ones and leave them in the garage. I have only had one stock failure and after seeing several of those cheap 2500 ones fail, I bought and carry a full set of stockers as spares.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.
