Well since I've been lifted and after much thought I thought I'd orginize my Build a bit better by explaining the choices I made.

Marks 3" Lift
After the many different lifts I looked at I opted for Marks 3" lift. I chose Marks 3" mainly cause it was a once peice design and that it replaced the weak Upper Strut Mount. Plus most of the members here are running Marks 3" with few problems. Towards the end of looking at different lift I felt that an extra .5" would hurt nothing but help me greater and look cool :D

SkyJacker S97N8030 Rear Shock
I went with these cause most here have ran these with good results. They are 15.69" Collapsed and 26.57" Extended Length. One note is make sure you buy 20, 7/16" Grade 8 washers to shim the lower half of the shock(where it mounts to the axle).

Bilstein Struts F4-BE5-A333-H0
Again I went with these cause most everyone runs these with exceptional results.

Pictures of the Lift, Shocks and Struts. Got my Lift, Struts, and Shocks Monday and Tuesday 4-2-2012 and 4-3-2012.

Installing the Lift

Well Staurday(5-19-2012) turned out to be a really nice day with temps in the high 80s.

The only problem we ran into while installing the spacers was the End Link seized up after attempting to remove it. So we were looking at it dumb founded and finally figured out how to get the axle down enough to slide in the spacer without having to mess with the other End Link. Took us 2.75 to 3.5 hours from start to finish thats including a trip to Ace to get some more washers for the shocks. We tried to tighten the End Link up and it didn't move, we hit it with PB Blaster and a Propane Torch and it still didn't move. We ended up rounding the allan key so it ain't coming off unless we hack it off. Why GM why :hissyfit: :angry whip:

My buddy came over and gave me a hand again and finished the lift Sunday( 6-5-2012) we started about 1pm finished about 8:15 - 8:45pm. Ran into a few road bumbs installing the first spacer but after that, the other went in no problem, seeing that we learned from our first mistakes.

We flipped the Upper control arms for better alignment. Read more here

Set-Up 0 Tires

6-13-2012

After looking at many many different tires I finally opted for the Grabber At2 in 265/70-17(31.7" tall and 10.5" wide") The General Grabber AT/2's had great reviews for performing extremely well on road and off road in all types of terrian.

Here is an Article that I found helpful. Keep in mind that the Stats of the tire at the end are wrong. I think Grabber changed the ply from 2ply to either 3 or 4ply for the Standard Load. The tires weigh 42lbs in the 265/70-17 not 22lbs.

http://www.fourwheeler.com/techarticles ... tire_test/

To get the tires to fit without rubbing I needed to purchase spacers. So I ordered a set from Mark.

Added a MDB Skid Plate I bought from Nakashige!

Image

Had a Buddy help me fab up a Radiator Skid Plate. Now this design probably isn't the best but its taken a decent hit when I was climbing Marble Head Steps on Drummond, it just bent a bit and didn't make any contact with anything under the vehicle. The thread can be found here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3994 June of 2013. Here is a link to the video of me climbing Marble Head Steps when I but the dent in the skid http://youtu.be/Y_SWAXHtZMw?t=4m38s

Communication

11-2-2012

Installed Waag Taillight Gaurds and Firestick FS II

Image

Zip Ties are holding the mount so it dosn't move.

Image

I since then sold the Taillight gaurds and relocated the CB Antenna. 3-20-2013

Image

I found my Grandfathers CB Radio which is a RadioShack TRC-484. I made a custom mount for it out of aluminum.

Image

Since I couldn't get the antenna tuned with the last location I then relocated it to the front. Made a small bracket out of 3/16 steel(I know a bit thick) and bent it into a step shape and bolted it in using the existing bolt. I like this location much better. October of 2013

Axle Swap

I Swapped rear axles from the 8.0" to the 8.6".The reason for this was due to the added strength that the 8.6" has over the 8.0". I was lucky enough to find one within 2.5 hours without the G80 that has the 4.10 ratio. I also got the front differential out of the exact same Envoy the 8.6" came out of. They both have 13K something on them.
I went to the 4.10 cause I might end up running 33s in the future.

This is how the axle was when I picked it up. I sanded it down put some Ospho on it and then painted it with Chassis Saver.

Lighting

Ordered some Rugged Ridge 6" 100w Halogen Lights back in September of 2013. Light output is pretty good I think the light output could be a bit more but its not bad none the less . Might just put the 130w bulbs in them next and see how they do.

Total REDO!!

As Most of you probably heard from me that I sold the Trailblazer and bought a jeep, well that was merely a distraction so I could sell my lift and all the other stuff I didn't need anymore.

This was suppose to be a winter project completed back in April in time for my clubs spring run... We just finally got the weight on the front end 3 days June 3rd. I'll have to post the "New" Suspension parts. I basically copied what Mike and Steve did.
