The way that I calculate it is using Tire Calc and take the (mileage*circum difference)+original mileage, then just the regular adjusted mileage/fuel used.

So, original mileage=175, your tire difference=3.7%, (175*.037)+175=181.475 adjusted mileage, Gas used=10 gals, 181.475/10=18.1475.

I could be doing it totally wrong, anyone feel free to correct me.

I figured I'd give my two cents about fuel economy

With no lift and stock tires, I got a pretty consistent 18mpg with 50/50 city highway.

With a 2in lift and stock tires my avg mpg would bounce between 17 or 18 depending on how windy the week was or how heavy I was on the accelerator.

With a 2in lift and 32in tires, I get 14 to 17 mpg, heavily depending on the wind and how heavy my foot is on the pedal. On cross country trips (purely freeway) I can squeeze 18 to 19 mpg out of the truck.

Towing has been largely unaffected with 1k< yielding about 12mpg and 1k> yielding about 8mg or less

I got 15.31mpg driving 80.6 miles with the 4.10s driving at about 60mph

I have had about 9 mpg w those gears at that speed and nearly 20 mpg w same gears at same speed. You really need to calculate over a few full tanks of fuel to have any mpg numbers w any legitimacy.

When I got my TB in March in was avg about 14.9 mpg. Over the pass week since it has be warmer and I have been using the AC now and then, my mileage has been creeping up to avg 16 mpg on DIC. Not sure if it just my driving stile or that I have been trying to get gas at the same place or not. Just wounding what anyone thinks. I would think using the AC the mileage would go down, could it be since the fan be running more to cool AC, that every is running cooler? Is this sign that Tstat needs changing?

Running cooler would decrease gas mileage.

They could have just switched to a summer blend fuel in your area. I picked up about 1.5 mpg when they switched from winter blend to summer blend here.

What are you averaging now with the 4.10's and current shoes on the TB? We're scoring about 13mpg with the 3.75's and it's pretty terrible. Want to get it up into the a min of 16mpg. Hoping it's possible.

Bout 15 average. I drive pretty conservative. The heavy tires don't help. 85ish lbs a piece plus 25 lb wheel.

since I have gotten the Scan Gauge for the TB and the DIC for the Suburban I've figured out if you basically drive like you don't have any brakes and take it easy on take off it helps a lot in the gas mileage dept.

It also seems that with the Suburban driving with the windows down I get better gas mileage (by almost 2mpg) than running the AC. I haven't been able to check the TB enough yet to know.

For starters, those cars aren't very smart. More like, I'm stupid and spent my money on a car that gets worse milage than a Prius and has less room to boot.

That's about right. We averaged close to that with our first setup during our trip out to Utah and back. And that's the current concern I have. The 35's are amazing offroad, they blow chunks on a long haul. James Downing may have a point that the sweet spot for Fuel/Off-Road is 32/33 inch tire.

When we first got started experimenting with the first lift we had pretty close to stock size tires. They are 30.5 inches. And we were averaging pretty close to 18MPG in the city. I think I even posted a picture here earlier in this thread. Basically just by hypermiling the car. Which means driving like a grandma, slow take off's, very light on the brakes and gas. Coasting to stops if need be. Never going over 55mph, and turning the engine off at lights. Along with no AC.
