I dont see a time where I will be far enough away from anywhere where I will need to carry fuel. 20 gals in the tank. Most of the Time I will be Truck and Trailer and Trailblazer

Revisiting this real quick - I don't ever plan to run out of my 20 gallon tank either. The main reason I keep 5 gallons on my tailgate off-road is in the case of a fuel tank puncture. I can fix the puncture, then refill the fuel tank. Just easier than hiking. At least, that's my thinking.

I did leave room on that side, and on the Hi-Lift mount, for you to weld whatever mounting situation the thin-style cans take, if you decide to go that route.

Mike, Why did you go back to putting the latch on the outside? IIRC Kyle's was in the middle do you can open the back hatch say in a crowded parking lot

If you look at how Kyle's is made, on the 3" body lift version, there's room for a mast to stick up in the middle, to latch to, because the arms are below the height of the liftgate. Without the body lift, the arm is behind the lift gate, and there isn't room for a latch mast back there, and still being able to open the hatch.

Cost is also an issue on the 3" body lift version, where there is room for the mast. The heavy duty bearing pivots cost $75 each, plus having to make a second arm, instead of just a longer arm. That's why the 2-arm 3" body lift version is $150 more than the single arm version.

Do you have one that works with the existing trailer hitch, or does everything have to come off and then weld it to the frame? Also curious if you could build something similar the the WAAG, rear bumper guard since they seem to be getting discontinued. Preferably one that can hold gas cans Beautiful work on the one you made!

I build this around a class III/IV hitch, so it's at least as strong as the stock hitch. However, I can do something similar to the WAAG if that's something you want. PM me for more conversation on it.
