Cell Phone Photography

I know that cell phone are progressing in quality, and I still prefer my SLR, however, I just got a macro lens that attaches to my phone(HTC Evo) via magnet and it is pretty neat. I love messing around with it photographing whatever I can find, so I thought I'd share. I didn't know they made these lenses until just recently. There is no way I would be able to focus the camera on my phone this close without the macro lens attached.

that's some good stuff.
I've found myself taking more and more pics with the cell. Mostly in the garage where I have good light and can set it on something steady to get a solid pic. In that environment there's no difference between the cell and the point and shoot.
Our Kodac Z981 has been kinda disappointing to be honest and I find myself going to an old Olympus T100 because it takes better shots.

Something you don't see mentioned much in cheapy camera's (cell phones, point and shoot) is pixel density. On the CCD, if you have 16 megapixels that is cool, but if they are in a CCD that's 1mm x .7mm you'll never get crispy images. The expensive DSLR often has fewer megapixels, but the CCD is 16mm x 24mm (from memory, it's something like that) so that the image from the lens can be a LOT bigger on the CCD. There's a limit to how clear an image can be, and it's related to sending the light through lens's and how big the image ends up. Back in the days of film cameras, many pro photo guys would use large format systems with a negative measuring 100 x 150mm (or even 200 x 300mm) to capture that perfect image. We use a CCD instead of a negative, but the size thing still relates. I'm hacking the explanation totally, hopefully you see what I mean.

It is used as a compressor. To keep natural gas in the pipeline at a steady compression level. We use several types of engines from what is pictured to even larger ones to jet turbines.

My HTC one m8 actually takes pretty good pics. I believe it has the 14+ ultra pixel dual camera. The phone has 3 cameras (1 selfie cam and 2 forward).
