Well I installed my antenna in the same spot you did. I got a 4' instead for extra clearance for my tent.
I have a Cobra 29 LX Max coming in the mail this week.

I am wanting to mount my CB radio to the roof through the headliner with magnetic mounts. I am wondering if I could use magnet mounts for the cb radio or would that interfere? I know you can get mag antennas but wasn't sure about using some on the receiver.

The magnetic mounts won’t interfere but are they strong enough not to drop the cb on your head during a big downared jolt?

You can get different strength ones. Just an idea I had.
Any other way you think I could mount up there without drilling and bolting through the roof?

I'd probably advise against using magnets. Doesn't sound reliable.
Just another thought for where to put it... I put mine directly on the dash, lined up with the 2 middle air vents. No screw mounts, just double sided foam tape on the bottom of the radio. Doesn't block as much view as you think. Dash panel up against the windshield pops off and is good for running wires.

I ordered a small Midland radio and placed it under the dash. Even with me being 6'2" and having a 38" inseam, this hasn't gotten in the way at all.
I also ordered a mirror mount for the antenna and ditched half of it, bolting the main unit directly to my tire gate.

Thought about that spot Jason but my radio is a bit too wide to fit in that area without going over the bump in the middle.
