Rake issues

So I believe my rake is more severe than it was stock. The problem is that now my headlights point to far to the ground.
Another issue is I am mounting a snorkel. For when I face it backwards during the winter, I don’t want sleet coming into it if the snorkel is pointed at the sky.
I just replaced the stock shocks, but with the stock height. I have the 2 inch RC lift, can I put in ext front springs for an extra .5 inches or so without over extending the shock?

Yeah, if you're still on stock front springs, that's probably your issue. They tend to sag over time.

So that won’t over extend my shocks?

I know the RC kit increased preload, but will I be ok adding ext springs?

The proper way to run a snorkel is facing acrossed the windshield. But i run mine forward. I have not had an issue with mine even running in the rain or snow that we have had. If it works properly shuldnt have. Big issue.


As for the rake. The front can go up with stiffer springs or instead of the 2 inch get a 3 inch for the front and put in the stiffer springs. It will rude rough without weight up front though. I still run stock springs for now. I will get others hopefully my yhe end of summer and new struts.

If you shocks or sturts are worn out they won’t dampen the spring bounce. In the front they could wear out the lift bushing and it fails then snap the strut like this.

Right, but would replacing worn out ones lift the front a little bit?

The strut itself doesnt give you lift only dampens. The spring gives you the lift.

If you're replacing the springs, go ahead and replace the shocks too if they are more than 50k miles old. It's worth it to only have to wear them out once.

Although, you do not HAVE to replace the shocks when you replace springs.

Yeah, I made a mistake and these are new shocks which is why I was so concerned.

But my shock will be fine with ext springs?

With stock ext springs yes, with the 2' lift block no, the rear stock shocks are too short and will top out going over bumps and bang internally. The stock front struts are fine they don't change.

Rear suspension is fine, I am trying to lift the front up.

Replace the front springs and see where you sit afterwards. Embrace the rake that is left afterwards.
