Getting Camper/Adventure Ready - In Progress

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by clickscrazy » Thu Jul 13, 2017 9:08 am

Hi All. I know I have been spamming the forum with posts, so I thought I would combine everything into a single post that outlines my goal and actions taking to get my TB camper ready.

Any suggestions, things to check or input is appreciated.

Goal: Get the old girl as reliable, safe and capable as possible for towing an R-POD 171 (2,200 to 2,300 Dry Weight Camper) and have some adventures! TB has 151k.

Previous Recent Work (Last 10k):
    New Bilsten shocks all around.
New 4wd Disconnect and passenger CV.
    New Tires/Rims, Wheelspacers.
    Brakes checked, All Good.
    Lift Installed (Mark MC)
    Plugs (AC Delco)
    Fan Clutch
    AC Condensor
    Oil Changed
Removed running boards (Save a bit of weight)

Pending Projects:
    Replace Thermostat (DONE 7-13-17)
Replace Coolant Temp Sensor (DONE 7-13-17)
    Replace Coolant (DONE 7-14-17)
Replace lower Rad Hose (DONE 7-13-17) (Not doing the Upper now, as it is much easier to get to in case of emergency)
    Alternator, Duralast Gold (DONE 7-14-17)
Transmission fluid change and filter (non flush). (DONE 7-15-17)
Add Transmission cooler, Hayden 678 (DONE 7-18-17)
Rear Mud Flaps (Ready to Install)

Optional:
Oil pressure sensor - About a month ago, I got a low oil pressure warning and TB shut off. Has not happened since, so picked this up just in case.
    Upper rad hose
Front Mud Flaps - Not sure if these will fit with my new tire wheel combo. But would be nice.

Looks like you're covering all the bases. Enjoy the outings in your new camper when you're all set to go. Getting out there with family and friends is what it's all about. :-)

Did the Trans Cooler install. Was a bit more time consuming than I expected, but not very difficult.
