Soon I plan to order a set of Glowshift tinted series gauges. I prefer the look and visibility of analog gauges to digital and these seem to fit the bill nicely even if they seem to have sending unit issues. I will be getting a coolant temp, trans temp, oil temp and oil pressure and mounting them over the mirror. The trans temp will be installed into an inline Derale filter kit and the coolant into an autometer heater hose tap. The oil gauges are what I need a suggestion on. The only two options I've seen are 1) an adaptor and tee on the plug on oil filter housing or 2) a sandwich plate on the filter, just don't know which one I'd need. I'm thinking option 1 could goes issues with either leaks, clearance, or accuracy running too many adaptors. What have you done, or suggest?

I haven't added one to my TB, but usually I just pull the sending unit, add a Tee, and enjoy knowing my oil pressure. It's pretty straightforward, and I've never had any leaks or anything, except in a race car once when i didn't use a grommet through the firewall.

I've also used the sending unit location in the past. It works fine.

I've also used fittings into an oil filter relocation kit, again it worked just fine.

I'd use the setup that fits the best and you're the most comfortable with and go with it. I'd keep in mind that it's preferable to get one that uses a common sending unit you can pick up at the parts store if you can.
