Having went with the 5" bumper lights, I recommend going with 1 or 2 sets of the smaller lights instead. Unless you like the look, You'll find better LED options in the smaller lights and look clean. Just my opinion, I still haven't really found good LED 5" lights that work in the bumper.

I moved this post into its own thread, because the pics/prices thread was like the last place that it should have been.

I would actually say the opposite. My previous bumper had 5" driving lights and 2" projectors, and the projectors were useless.

Right now, I use these 27 watt lights ( http://www.amazon.com/KAWELL%C2%AE-1800 ... EZDBYMFNKF ) and they really do make plenty of light. They put out a lot more light than the 55W driving lights that I had in my last bumper. I'm about to buy a set of these, though, because they came out after I got mine, and will still fit in the tubes. ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JWG ... _i=desktop ) At 42W each, they should put out quite a bit more light. I haven't done it yet, though, because the 27W lights, with my 18W lights hanging from the center tube, give enough light that when I turn them off and go with just the factory brights, I feel like I'm blind.

Actually part of the reason I didn't put 2" lights into my current bumper is because I couldn't find inexpensive LED lights that small. What are you finding?

No. I got the same ones as you cause they were a great price. I looked at the 42 but think they were more than your link shows now.

I just picked up the 42W Kawell's you mentioned above. I wired them up briefly and they threw a lot of light in the barn. I am finishing up the brackets on the bumper and when I get it all together, I'll post some pics with them On and Off. I got the Flood versions - you can get 30deg spots as well... both are the same price.

They are cheaper on Ebay...or at least they have best offer at same price. Cant remember if it was these or back-up ones I looked at. Just noticed ebay deals seemed better.

Looking around, I've found some 10W single LED, 1050 (raw) lumen (736 effective lumens) lights in the 2-3" range.

However, the 4.5" single LED models are 25W, 2500 raw lumen (1750 effective lumen).

Or, you can go with like a 4" semi-square, running 4750 raw lumen (3330 effective lumen) output.

By comparison, stock headlights are in the 1000 - 1350 lumen range.

I have the 4.5" light cannons. due to mounting complications with the orientation of the 3 tab lenses I wasn't really able to use them in the 5" cans. also, one of the neat things is the swappable lenses that is impossible to do without removing the light. People seem to like the cheap 20 dollar led lights more than the light cannons when I have both on.

Well, yeah... The beam is definitely more defined on the light cannons, but when you compare a 25W light cannon to a 42W multi-LED model of the same size, the 42W model is going to put out almost double the light (the single high wattage LEDs are hard to passively cool, so they dim after a while, especially if you aren't moving to move air over the fins).

Ok here are the pics... I tested out the KAWELL 42W 4.6" 60 Degree Round LED lights, my Quad Headlight Mod, as well as my new TMH 20'' Dual Row Combo High Power 126w Light Bar.

I have the fog lights wired up to the factory wiring with no issues. The LED bar was temporarily hooked directly to the battery.

I like this setup a lot. The round "fogs" don't seem too blinding but lights up the road area very well (as fog lights should do). The LED bar is perfect for filling up everything else. It has a combo of floods AND spots.

As a side note, I get TERRIBLE FM reception with either set of LED lights on. My local stations even pretty much go away when these lights are on. Seems to be some pretty major interference with these china made lights. XM works fine of course :)

Where are the lights grounded on the vehicle? Pretty sure this is the reason why you get bad radio reception.

The fogs are using the factory fog light wiring, but the led bar was wired straight to the battery terminals. Both resulted in the same amount of interference.

The RFI is caused by the Power Drivers used to supply the LED's. They don't have filters and you can't really add em in either since they need to be on the pcb, something you're gonna have to just live with unfortunately... pop in a CD, or pass those on and get some lights with RF filters

I have never had any interference that I noticed with lights, but not a huge FM radio person.

Some stations still came in, but others were just static. I'm not really concerned because it's not my daily driver and I'm not that concerned with the lack of FM stations ;)

Either way, I'm very pleased with these lights. Hope it helps some people make a decision!

it's apparently a fairly well known issue, but a lot of sellers don't mention filters in the lights so it's hit or miss, apparently some of the cheaper lights have filters and some of the mid priced ones don't (and vice versa), so it doesn't even seem to be a price point issue. I've stumbled across quite a few threads on pirate about the issue and they frequently mention it's related to the strength of the radio signal. Apparently stronger signals are fine and then with less strong signals you get the interference.
