For anyone who wants to know how I did this, here's the layout:
Materials:
(in order of use)
- Duplicolor Prep Spray
600 grit sandpaper
Index cards
Duplicolor Sandable Primer (white)
Duplicolor Wheel Paint (black)
Rustoleum High Temp Paint (black)
Duplicolor Matte ClearCoat
1. Remove wheels from vehicle
2. Wash/scrub wheels down with dish soap and allow to dry
3. Clean with Duplicolor Prep Spray
4. Sand down entire surface of wheel to be painted
5. Clean with Duplicolor Prep Spray (again)
6. Use index cards to block overspray by inserting them between the tire and the rim around the diameter of the wheel
7. Apply 3 coats of primer, allowing 10 minutes between each coat, waiting 30 minutes after last coat before next step
8. Apply 3 coats of Duplicolor wheel paint, allowing 10 minutes between each coat, waiting 30 minutes after last coat before next step
9. Apply 3 coats of Rustoleum high temp paint, allowing 10 minutes between each coat, waiting 30 minutes after last coat before next step
10. Apply 3 coats of Clear Coat, allowing 10 minutes between each coat, waiting 30 minutes after last coat before next step
11. allow to dry for 24 hours (where you live/your exact weather conditions can affect needed time)
