This is a section for everyone to document your upgrades and/or accessories.

No discussion is allowed in this subforum. We're aiming for content rich posts from the original author, avoiding a surplus of comments. There is a minimum post count of 10-20 posts before the sit will let you post a build. If you are unable to post your build, you likely have not contributed enough to the site yet.

Please use the following template for posting your Build Threads...

-------------------------------------------

After the initial post, you can post all the pics you want in the replies. We want to keep the initial post with some sense of consistency.

This part wasn't there from the beginning, was it? I copied and pasted what I started with from here, and I'd think I would have noticed it...

Having the build threads free of distracting conversation is bloody awesome! However, the singular build thread comments-collector thread I'm not so into. I figure I could start 2 threads at once if I start a build thread - one for content & one for comment? There would be a link to the comments thread in the first post of the build thread, as well as, in my sig. Is there anything wrong with that plan? Also, if alright, in which sub-forum should the comments thread be placed? Thanx

Justin, the single thread may seem a little odd but it seems to work for most folks.
Most of the time there are only a couple of active builds at one time so the comments aren't too confusing.
Steve was doing a SAS rig and build a thread in the offroad discussion section.

Some of the other guys might chime in but if you are going to be soliciting a lot of feedback maybe you have a thread in the offroad discussion topic (Boxy's Lift Questions etc) and do most of your build there and then when you have a good chunk complete start an official build thread.

I seem to get a recurring PM with the following theme, "why can I only create a build thread in the mall-rated section?".
Below is the PM along the lines I have been responding with.
step 1, read the build thread guidelines posted in the first post of this thread. Pay particular attention to the title and guidelines for first post.

step 2, all builds must start as mall rated builds.

step 3, once you have a build thread, you can request the desired rank at the link below provided you have the appropriate trip reports.

Hopefully this helps with some of the confusion.

There isn't an option for me to start a new thread? Am I still missing something?

Joe, there was a limitation set around 10 posts I believe. If you have less than 10 posts, you can't make a thread in the mall rated section - just to keep guys from signing up and just making a build thread without becoming a part of the community first.

Figured I'd ask here since this is the rule thread. I've made a return to the GMT platform, and would like to start a build thread for the new Trailblazer. I know the rules state one thread per member, so I want to see about the best way to go about this. I'd like to keep the old Envoy build thread up for reference. Should I change the title and add to that thread?
Also, should the ratings be account based or truck based? For example, if I were to start a thread for the Trailblazer, I'd hardly consider it Off-Road rated, but experience-wise I would consider myself to fall in that category.

I can attest to Cody being on at least one trip......... and having a muddy interior.
