No Longer Taking Finished Bumper Orders...

Well, I've got bad news. Not only did my real job fack my schedule last year and squander my $2200 insurance for the year on a single finished bumper, but the company who I had insurance through no longer covers at-home welding businesses. What's worse is that the only and cheapest insurance I can find (and I've been searching and getting turned away from everybody who sells insurance for 3 months, now) is a specialty lines carrier that would charge me $7,000 in premiums for $17,000 in gross sales. No thanks. The most money I've profited in a year, thus far, is $200 last year. So at this point, if I weld anything at home, for business, and I burn my house down, my homeowners insurance won't cover it. I'm not doing that, either.

I'm still going to do standard bumper kits and skidplates (I can weld those at work, after hours), but I can't do any for-profit welding at my house for the foreseeable future. This means that I won't be doing any finished/welded bumpers for sale.

I'm sorry to Hear this. Sure it sucks about people (myself included) who.can't get their bumpers made, but more so that things didn't work out for you. Come to Texas sometime and I'll get the beers.

Can you clarify what a standard bumper kit would consist of and what we can no longer order in the kit? Like are 3" body lift kits obsolete?

Cody, yeah, that's along the lines of what I said, but not exactly my response when I found out for sure. When I say standard kits, I mean kits for standard bumpers, which are non-body-lift and 3" body lift. Meaning that I can't do kits for winch bumpers or rear bumpers.

I think he meant the 3" body lift bumper kits, but he wasn't specific, so who knows...

I don't have one for the 2" BL, but can design one if there is a need (i.e. an order)

Yes, sorry I didn't make what I was trying to say clearer. I looked in mikes thread about selling the bumper kits and saw one was Strickly called a standard bumper and 3" bumper was listed seperate. So I thought he would only be making the standard bumper kit only.

Normal winch bumpers (flat top, angles bottom) are a no-go, but if there is demand, I can have the "winch off of a standard" punched and bent as a kit and it can be done that way.

Yeah, I need to do that. Currently in Canada working 12-14 hrs/day again.

However, for a weekend and the same price as a fully built bumper of mine, you can get a bumper kit, a $200 HF welder, and a new skill to be more independent from having to pay people to do things for you, for the rest or your life!
