Today the ORTB Founding Fathers released our new site theme.

Yeah, it's not perfect yet and still needs some tweaking, but we were excited to get some new skin on the board.

Hope you guys like it. If you find anything that doesn't work right, let us know. We will be tweaking it over the coming month.

The new theme is also mobile friendly (still needs some tweaks), so we will be turning off access via Tapatalk later today.

Cheers!

The next step will be increasing the facebook integration (that's part of the reason blue got chosen, since this is a facebook-friendly theme).

You will start seeing like buttons on every post in the near future (when I can get the code working), and the next phase is that you will be forced to link your facebook account with your ORTB account, otherwise you will not be able to access the forums.

So is this going to be one of those things where when you look at a topic, or make a comment...it posts to your FB wall and annoyingly tells everyone what you do all day.. ?

Well, I wouldn't say annoyingly.

When I was doing the research to get into the new theme market, that was a very desirable theme trait that sold for a premium. People love facebook integration.

I had a topic where we discussed this months ago and the majority of you guys wanted more facebook integration.

How do I create a facebook account? Not sure if I like this James. I thought the SMEs and Mods had agreed not to link the site to facebook?

You just go to facebook.com and sign up, Randy! Ask one of your kids!

The facebook integration will make it easier for the younger generation to find us, we all know they mainly search facebook anyways. By posting all of our content into facebook with links back to offroadtb.com, we will be able to really broaden our horizons and bring in new members and page hits like never before.

I don't remember an agreement among anyone. I know there were a few people with opinions against it, but as I recall, overall everyone was for it.

You'll see Randy, it's the wave of the future!

I'm hoping this is April Fool's, and will go back to the better, normal theme, tomorrow.

Before, you could hit "view active topics", from any page. Now you have to hit "board index" before you can. Its the exact same theme, as another forum I'm on. I deal with it, only because its the best forum on that particular subject.

EDIT: This is the forum I was referring to.http://homedistiller.org/forum/index.php
If we are stuck with this one, see if you can add the HD Google search feature. Its way better than the generic search bar at the top.

I'll get it back to the way you prefer it. I've got a few other tweaks ahead of it on the list. Should be good by tomorrow.

After all the things you have done to make this site better over the years, I know you have a plan and will make this work. I just set up a facebook account, thought I would never need to, but to part of this forum, it is worth it. I guess...

I didn't read the Announcement as I could not find for the life of me the View Active Topics. Anyhow, Shouldn't there be a way that we can select what template we can use? If this is something we are going to stick with.
