Designing that one was the hard part (specifically the ends)... It gives me the flat pattern, from here...

Because of the extra bends, the second one will probably cost ~$20 more, but I think it'll look better...

I haven't done too much sheet metal work, but I have to admit that the second looks way better that the first. Let's get this done!!!

ha! Sorry. Me and my buddies, who do more with metal than I have, looked atthe pics of this and they are talking about how easy it would to modify and do pretty much whatever we wanted to do to it, so I'm down for the simplest one, but the second looks awesome!

It's cool... This week and next week are the weeks of "priority 1A1, 1A2, 1A3, and 1A4" (i.e. everything is first priority), and Engineering is the bottleneck because the sales people can't be bothered to sell standard stuff, so I'm putting in some hours... and some more hours...

But yes, it should be really easy to do most anything you want, to it...

Whatever is easiest for you to produce, sir. :salut: I'm picking up my first welder this weekend, so by the time that you are ready for production I will be ready to modify.

Does the second one still allow room to mount a winch?

They both allow room to mount a receiver-mounted winch on the optional receiver... Because of our crossmember tube in the front of the frame, I'm not sure either of them have room to actually mount a winch inside...

I think you would have to mount the winch on a plte spanning the top of frame rails and either could be cut out for that, but I would think you would want to that yourself when mounting the winch.

Right i would have a winch mounted properly within the frame rails with a mounting plate. My question is would we have enough flat surface on the top of the bumper for the plate to sit even with, or will the plate pertrude out over the new bend (which imo would look stupid). This is why im inquiring :finger:

Well like Hardtrailz said, the plate would be mounted on the frame rails, therefore it wouldn't be sitting on top of the bumper... and then you would cut the top of the bumper for the winch to stick out a bit. Atleast thats how I see it being done, so if the bumper is wide enough the plate wouldn't even been seen.

Get what I'm saying? And this is just a guess of my part. And if I did get a winch how I'd want it done since I don't like the reciever mounted winch look.

2 of you are right... The top of the frame is 2" lower than the top of the bumper... There may or may not be enough room to put a winch in there, because I'm going for approach angle, so the bumper only sticks out 1" past the end of the frame. There's probably 5.5" of depth, there...

Design #1 looks good. A huge, massive slap of metal hung on the front of a TB that says stay out of my way AND allows room for many mods such as fog lamps, receiver, push bar, etc.

Design #2 looks great. I cannot wait to see one mounted on a TB. IMO it will look like something made just for our trucks, not a semi-universal design attached with a Trailblazer mounting bracket kit. Design #2 will be a much easier sell to my wife. :happy whip: Am I the only guy concerned with that?

A design/ technical question for you Mike: Some of the bumper manufactures who do not want to even consider doing a TB bumper make a big deal out of the fact that their shackle mounts are not just welded to the face of their bumpers, but a hole is cut in the front face and the shackle mount goes thru the hole and is welded to some internal part(s) of the bumper as well as welded to the front face. I do not have enough knowledge to know if it makes a real difference, if it is a ease of production thing, or if it is just advertising hype. Which style are your shackle mounts and why?

P.S. Your timing sucks. Two weeks ago I was involved in a crash (nobody hurt & my TB is driveable.) It appears your bumpers will be available about the same time as I get my truck back from the body shop. Can you make your bumpers available last month or should I talk to the guy at fault and ask him to wait a month before running the stop sign?

Just tell them to leave the bumper off and pocket the money for this one.
