Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Oil pan Skid Plate. . .in progress.

Any special projects involving a decent amount of fab work (bumpers, sliders, roof racks, etc)

Hmmm, hard to say no to beer. But I'm still on possible mystery guest status.

Thanks guys. :wallbash: . The diamond plate does serve a purpose. Unlike all yalls aluminum plates, this steel one WILL rust when I start scraping it up. Provided it dosen't get torn off, the aluminum D-plate will protect the steel from loosing the paint and rusting up in the front for at least a little while :gimp: .

Not just bling :viking2: . . .well maybe just a little.

Finished and installed. More like Road Warrior than bling huh ?

All four sides contact the frame or crossmember for full support.

Next armor plating will be for the air pump. That thing is way vulnerable.

It's much less blingy than I feared. ;)

I think they just put it in that STUPID place to keep the noise down and not scare the driver. You should be able to relocate it into the engine compartment, I would think.

Or just remove it, and deal with the code if you need to pass emissions. If you drive off in the first 30-40 seconds after starting the engine, and don't we mostly all do that, the pump does nothing to reduce emissions anyway.

Is that what that crazy thing is with the big tubes coming out of it on the driver side frame rail? I always wondered what that was...

So. . . do I get the Roadie seal of approval for the oil pan skid plate :?:

I'm just gonna make a simple plate with a little kick up in the front. Probably 1/8 inch. Just wanna' protect it from smaller stuff like mud, brush, small rocks and ice/snow. I'm sure that is pricey to replace.

Yes Philberto, You are correct. Follow the hoses up and you will find (at least with my year TB) it goes up on the drivers side, then crosses above the engine by the firewall then over to the fresh air inlet after the air filter.

Well, I haven't cleaned the mud off yet but as far as I can see, the plate is still 100%. the bolt protectors I added DID take hits and do their job. Glad I added them. I'll get more pix when clean.

Here's two pix of my oil pan plate after TECORE 2. It took some hits and didn't bend. I am very happy that I welded on those bolt protectors. As you can see, they did take plenty of hits instead of the bolts.
