Here's the kind of noob I was five years ago with nobody as a mentor. Was on an organized trail run with a group that required tow hooks, and Envoys didn't come with 'em. OMG, what a goof. 10,000 pound tow hooks on a 50 pound capable location.

Got to learn somehow. I bet it seemed like the perfect solution at the time.

Added some bolt head protectors and got some paint on the skids yesterday and today....

The paint




The oil skid powdercoat was already chipped off so I painted both sides to prevent rust



The radiator skid with a bunch of runs but its a skids plate and i wanted to get paint in all the holes, so it is thick in spots




And the mess from dropping the open can

Smart idea. I resprayedd my front impact bar (bumper is removed) cause it was starting to oxidise, sanded it and rustoleum flat black spray, nvr dealt with the actual can paint.

Looks good and def needed.

Oh Yeah...Mike I did knock those two front corners off with the sawzall and ground it smooth, so when I re-install I will let you know if it fixes the minor issue.

I used a foam brush on one side and a regular 99 cent paint brush on the other. The regualr one worked better. I thought of rolling, but i wanted to get in the welds and the holes and with the brush you can kind of stab the bristles into the nooks and crannies so its all coated.

Awesome, thanks! I know it's needed for the regular bumper mounting, though, so it'll get done to all of them (or rather, I'll change the design)

I searched everywhere and for the life of me couldn't find the thread where you painted you sliders with this paint. Just wondering how many cans you went thru and if you also just used a brush on them as well. Plan on tackling mine this weekend and would rather not run out... Thanks in advance.

Edit: Found it on the OS that you brushed it on, don't think this update was posted here. I thought I was lookin for it, but still wondering the quantity of cans..

I used a quart for everything..including the spill. It was 10 bux or right around there. I have one thick coat on everything, but will be doing another here soon and will need a second can since the garage swallowed some or I would have had enough.
