(Probably) Dumb question about the resonator

Any special projects involving a decent amount of fab work (bumpers, sliders, roof racks, etc)

I live in gwinnet county GA , I looked up alot about taking off the resonator and putting on a bit of a "better" straight pipe, I'm still just not 100% sure if 1. It's legal 2. What it does other than sound. So, my question is, whats the good and bad about taking off the resonator, and will it pass emissions after?

Yes it's legal and no it won't effect emissions. A resonator is basically a muffler for interior sounds. It will lower the humming/resonating sound at certain rpm's from the exhaust to make it quieter on the inside of your vehicle.

-The good of removing it is all for looks and maybe slightly different exhaust note. There is no performance increase, no better MPG's or any of that. Just mainly for looks

-The bad is that you could get a slight hum or drone noise at a certain rpm that could drive you crazy but seems like 99% of us that have done the delete haven't had that problem.
