Custom swing out tire carrier

My friend at Eagle Manufacturing made a really nice carrier for me. Says he feels sorryfor me so he built me this. 1 1/2" inch tubing because that's what we had.

I like it. Does the tire affect your vision much?

It blocks some in the middle up close, but I can see in the blind spots. Thanks.

That's awesome lol. It doesn't look like the tire would stick up any worse than our FJ, which has about 1/3 of the rear window blocked off. Does it swing well fully loaded? What did you use for a pivot?

The swing is very smooth. I bought a spindle, and bearing kit from EBay, advertised as made in America. Kit had Chinese bearings, but it was nice. Hope I never have to get the cover off because of welding I had to pound that sucker on
