Brush guard redo

Any special projects involving a decent amount of fab work (bumpers, sliders, roof racks, etc)

by trux01 » Mon Jan 11, 2016 8:13 pm

Awhile back in made a brush guard out of the factory steel sub bumper and some pipe. Looks good now that it finished for the most part, but I'm thinking of a redo after a pic of a bad ass guard on a Silverado I came across. Check out the pic on the truck and let me know what you think.

It looks pretty neat but doesn't really seem functional. It would seem the over hood part wouldn't provide much real support and also be something else to restrict your view. I always look at them and think "what would happen if I hit a deer?" It looks like you can flip the top part to open the hood so that doesn't seem to be an issue.

I thought it was mad max cool looking, but your right itside not practical or necessary. I don't have time to build it either and damn sure don't have the cash to have it built either. On to the SAS..
