Custom Upper Control Arms

Any special projects involving a decent amount of fab work (bumpers, sliders, roof racks, etc)

I’m using 3'' lift. but the issue is that I have a negative camber is a little bit but is enough to see that is not perfect alignment.
So I would like modify the upper control arm to get the correct alignment.
I don’t know why is a negative camber must be positive for a lifted truck.
perhaps is something else but I can’t find what could be.

Seems to be a simple solution to the ball joint angle issue (not the adjustability one though). I just did the flip with poly bushings, and got it aligned this Saturday. With a 3" spacer lift, the EXT springs (as I *have* an EXT), and Billstein's.....I was able to get it right in spec on caster/camber/toe. The ball joint angle, while not perfectly upright, is well within the range of motion expected of them.

FWIW, the poly bushings are smooth as silk, quiet (so far) and allow a good range of articulation.

Could you send me some pics?
Im thinking that perhaps I have another issue with mi alingment.

Sound like your shop doesn't know enough of our platform. Btw the LCA can be adjusted. And I hope your lift is not like the outside the Sturt on the right.

So what's wrong with the spacer lift on the right? Seems it's a better option as it doesn't compress the spring more than stock thereby increasing it's preload?

I think mostly due to the weakening of the steel after the heat.

The current pinch bolt area of the UCA is a mild steel forging....and isn't heat treated. As long as you aren't overheating it, or rapid quenching it after....don't really see how heating/bending is going to alter the metallurgy of the part?

And still would like to know why the top of strut spacer lift is a no-go?

The info on top of strut is all over. Length of strut creates issues w ball joint n cv as extension limiters.

CrMo Tie Rod Links with 2500HD Ball Joints
Swaybar Deleted

James: that is from your build thread. I am told you are running 2500 ball joints? Were these custom arms needed to use them?

Crap Kyle, I totally missed your last post here. Zombie thread!

No, the custom UCAs are not a requirement to run the 2500 HD ball joints.

Well I tried to do this myself James, and I grabbed 3 different ball joints from the tb and the 2500, all of the 2500 were insanely too large. Please explain what you used.
