I have finally gotten fed up with not having any room in the rear of the truck. Lately it seems that with the subs, tool boxes, and chairs I am lucky to get a cooler back there and thats about it unless I start stacking stuff up. With the resent addition of the spare tire carrier in the hitch, I have minimal site out the back window, and have found myself using the side mirrors all the time. Because of this I decided to build a shelf, allowing to essentially double up on the amount of space without having to dig to find what I want. I realize that a few of you have gone the box route with sliding drawers, this is much more primitive then that. It will get the job done though!
On to pictures...
Here is my little 500 watt inverter. the wires drop down under the rear seat to the rear fuse box. The ends are alligator clipped and will only be hooking up when it is needed.
You can kind of see down the side here I have my amp attached. This way if space becomes real critical, or I am doing something I absolutely need to see out of the back window for, all I have to do is unhook the speaker wire and can remove the sub box.
All said and done it is alot cleaner and organized and I have alot more usable space. All for 20 bucks in wood.
