Just joined the site, excited to be able to contribute, not just lurk and steal tips/ info. I had a 05 trailblazer, but rolled it on thanksgiving and replaced it with an 04 Rainier. I'm liking the on-road abilities of the Buick MUCH better - quieter, smoother ride, better stereo, and interior. The AWD transfer case and no lo-range is taking some getting used to, but so far, so good. I already have a dedicated "barely" (definitions vary) street legal rock crawler - v8 powered, solid axled, '88 s-10 blazer. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f30/the-g ... wn-426353/
So the Rainier will be my daily driver, but i'm wanting to do some upgrades so we could do some cross country driving/camping/overland type of trips with it.
I put a hitch on the front, not a bolt on one that sits low, custom fab'd and welded up higher. I can take the winch from my blazer and use it if needed.
I also put a 2" leveling kit on, and adjusted the rear air ride sensors to raise the rear.
Tires/wheels will be done when the currents need replacing, its my daily driver.
I'm going to modify/improve the roof rack for size and strength.
I want to make a roof top tent for camping/ exploring weekends.
looking forward to using and helping the site!
