Greetings all from Champaign!

I received a 2003 LS 4x4 for free from a family member. I am looking to turn it into a fun weekend vehicle that I can take on some trails ( I have my eye on heading to Badlands in IN,) and camping. I found this site by stumbling across a TECORE vid on youtube and I was hooked!

I have already finished my lift thanks in part to the information I found in the build threads here on the site and I am going to write up my own soon. Currently I am looking at armor ideas and wondering if my welding skills are up to snuff!

Welcome!

Are you talking about making your own stuff, or putting together my kits, as far as your welding skills being up to snuff?

I was looking at putting together one of your kits. I have done some light welding repairs before, but nothing like welding a bumper! I am no stranger to turning wrenches on my projects, but welding is a skill that I don't get to practice often. But I am always up to learning something new and it will give me a reason to buy a new tool or a toy as my other half refers to them!

Welcome! Mike's bumpers are definitely the way to go! My welding skills aren't great either, so I let my neighbor give it go. He did the main work and I did the rest. After watching him, it's probably something I could have picked up pretty quick. Might not have been as clean, but that's what grinders are for ;)

Welcome!
I would encourage you to take the plunge and build your kits!
What kind of welder do you have access too?
Erik
It's not how fast you go. It's how quick you get there. Lifted TBSS Build
