Hello. I have the option to buy a 03 bravada. It's sitting in my driveway at the moment actually. It needs a few things but otherwise in great shape. It is all wheel drive. Not sure if it has the g80 haven't peeked at the rpo codes.

After spending several days reading threw this forum I have some questions. This will primarily be used as a family vehicle but I do want to make it very off road capable. I prefer jeeps honestly but would be getting a killer deal on the bravada hence why I am here.

Is it a joke to build it due to the fact that it's awd?

I'm interested in full lift aftermarket front and rear bumpers and motor upgrades new gearing lockers. Because of the lack of aftermarket parts I was hoping to get some suggestions.

Basically what are the best (best being relative I know) current aftermarket parts to accomplish my goals. Basically help me put together a list of parts so I can do a cost benefit analysis.

Also what's the current best method for lift. Marc? With z71s? Adjustable control arms, And body lift.

Looking forward to people's opinions.

Its not a huge joke. The transfer case is basically the same thing, but its always stuck in the A4WD mode and doens't have low range. You should be able to swap in a 4WD transfer case from a TB.

Front bumper kits (weld yourself) are available from MDB fab, or a full bumper can be purchased from Tactical Armor Group. Rear bumpers are only custom works. Motor upgrades - you should look at GMTNation.com but the I6 doesn't need a lot as long as you gear properly (I would do a mechanical shift kit though). New gearing and lockers is done the same as any TB.

The best lift method are the radflos combined with some combination of new rear springs, lift blocks, and new shocks. I don't think there is a clear leader on the rear.

There's only one vendor for rear control arms, there's only one set of custom front adjustable control arms (but they were homemade), and the body lift is only available with any reliability from Zone.

In the future I'd suggest you search out the applicable threads and do some homework before asking blanket questions - but I'll give you a break on your first post.

Caleb makes a good point, and I'd have to agree with him...........

You say you want to leave it a family vehicle, then you go off about full armor/bumpers, new gears, and lockers. So I'm assuming you mean you just won't be tearing up the interior for storage solutions and fridges like some of us have. Am I correct on that?

A properly geared and locked AWD can be very effective on a trail. Don't sell yourself short. As James said, the search function is your friend. After 5 years of this website, there aren't many questions that haven't been asked before... unless you're wanting to do a full tube roll cage chassis and keep your weight under 2500 lbs.

Lmao... I read that post about the tube chaise. Sorry for the jumbled 1st post. Was trying to hammer one out before work.

The intention of the truck will be a daily driver and weekend toy.

Like I said before I have a personal preference towards jeeps. With the massive amount of bolt on aftermarket options. Although the bravada is a good deal... so trying to quickly gather as much information about the platform before I make my decision. I figured this is definitely the forum to inquire about any such questions.

Just know very little about the new bravada platform. I know much more about the 4.3's and 90'S S10'S.

Was looking for a general consensus of whether the awd was worth/possible making into a capable offroader.

And looking for parts suggestions so I can formulate a quick cost to see if this at all possible within my budget.

I will just have to spend more time scouting the forum.

See you guys around the sight. P.s some of you have very nice rigs.

Did you not get what you were looking for? For a basic lift and tires, you're looking at 2k. Bumpers front and rear another 2k maybe. Gears, probably 1000 roughly. More if you get a locker. New transfer case is around 300 I'm guessing from a junkyard. If you get radflos, add 700 to that estimate.
