Front diff has been swapped to 4.10 ratio'ed unit from a low mileage SS. Also rebuilt the splined disco w good synthetic grease. The swap forced a power steering fuild change as well. I am sure that's not a bad thing.

Hoping to get driveshaft shortened this weekend.

Driveshaft shortened 1.25 inches . Works great.

For reference though, the shortened steel shaft on my truck is 1.75 inches shorter than spare aluminum one in the garage.

Replaced the failed Japan springs and spacers with Skyjacker 25 springs. Rear is 1 inch higher than front now.

Re-installed the interior divider/cage thing that came with it when I bought it. Was done by American body co or something like that. Previous owner had a wheel chair and this was to keep it from hitting the pasengers or him in a wreck. It mounts where rear coat hooks are and in some threaded holes above the driver and passengers head. The gate slides from behind front seats to behind rear seats. I put it in for 2 reasons...protect lil one from flying objects I keep back there and for mounting a few things.

Got 6 Hella lights and a bunch of wiring and an ATV aluminium ramp. Gonna redo the roof rack situation as soon as its nice out.

What I came up with...









Still need to fully paint and run the wiring, but it really helped the mpg and does not create a lot of noise. It was juststuff I had around so no real cost for me, but under 200 to replicate I think.

Finally added the extra rear bump stops when I rotated the tires. Simply bolt to lower cup that bumpstop would normally hit.

Need to mention that I did upgrade to a Duracell AGM battery w dual terminals.

Some pics cause hoping for some changes in the next couple weeks. Mostly cosmetic changes. Fix a little rust, Monstaliner, decals, paint stuff, wiring, lights, basic stuff, but a little freshening up since the truck felt a little stale and unloved lately. it deserves some attention.

Removed the hood stripe and plasti-dip--That stuff blows to remove. Got some brand new rims and tires.

Went to some Black Rhino wheels in 17x9 +12 offset with 35 12.50 17 Fierce Attitude MT.

Skyjacker N8030 Nitrogen rear shocks are ready to installed and Radflo Coilovers are on order, but a couple recent pics to update this build

Actually made me happy to have the Radflo as there was a 10-12 inch bump at the bottom that hit hard and if you did not hit it about 15 mph, you did not make it. Guess the tires caught some air but I have not seen a pic yet.

Badlands Trails were pretty but treacherous and controlled slides were necessary.

Swapped rear shocks to Rough Country units. I think it rides better, but likely in my head. I just did not like the rust starting on the Skyjacker and wanted to try the RC because of the customer service my buddy gets from them. Also added some decals from Mr. HighVoltage...Latin for What is said is done, an old Motto of U.S. Navy Fighter Squadron VF-194. The shocks are on the opposite sides I intended, but will get to switching them later. Dont remember part number offhand, but they are the ones for a lifted s-10 rear and the same basic dimensions everyone runs on here. Required pics...












Added a 20 inch lightbar to the bumper and a 32 to the roof. Have a pair of 6 inch for rear of rack as well. None of the roof is wired yet, but the switch, wiring, and relay is all ready, so its just time I need. The 20 impresses the hell out of me. Great output. It is the combo beam pattern and simply works great. I can turn off the quad beams and not even care. But some pics...

Non-Offroad but some vinyl changed. Jeff hooked me up with some nice stuff for the Jamboree, but my lil girl ended up in the ER then shipped to Cincinnati ER so I missed all but the first day of that. Got the above referenced shock decals, got the windshield with Aequitas + Veritas--justice and truth ala Boondock Saints and have a few more bits of smaller orange to still apply. Also did a semi hidden tramp stamp on the rear hatch. Cant see it with the bumper arms in, but it means something to me and I like it. I did strip off most other decals from the truck to clean it up some. Finally after years I removed the Lift It Fat Chicks Cant Jump from each side, I pulled all off the back window except the original Paved Roads Another Example of Wasteful Govt Spending. Which can be removed, but may be replaced with a copy since I work for the Dept of Transportation. I did leave the compass rose on the 1/4 window i did awhile back and the silver front fender pirate 4x4 trail badge. Oh well. it will likely all change in a few months and they dont add anything but enjoyment to me. Pics anyway since it is my build thread.
