found the problem with the 4 wheel drive issues that have bin off and on for the past year.(going into neutral on its own while driving and at startup,front wheels losing power in 4 hi and 4 lo) 2 oursman chevy mechanics and 1 electronics specialist later! a simple google by james d and 162 bucks, prob fixed!(tc shift motor) fingers crossed haha! all mechanics stated i dont know what the problem is,you got propper voltages to the transfer case. i kept sayin maybe a mechanical problem? they looked at me like i was crazy! anyway found a dorman replacement on ebay,prob solved.

here are a few projects that i have bin working on for a while. had a offroad light sitting around and decided to mount on rear of roof rack to help light up the area behind me. may add more later, wanted to at least get the wiring done.

next was rear cargo area light since i was running wire to the back i decided to add a light to the back.(again light sitting around) i am always opening hatch and always wanted a quick light that would stay on longer than just hitting the keychain. light is switched up front or in the back. both mods cost nothing.

next i god an idea from roadey:surco roof rack is great but starts to squeek real bad. sprayed silicone and it solved the problem till it rained a few times so then i riveted each section of the rack. seems to have solved the problem.

in the future i want a winch, so decided to get the wiring done first, 1 less thing to worry about once i can afford a winch. went with quick disco's and rear wiring from bulldog winch. wanted a winch i could mount up front or back.
with this i installed a heavy duty marine grade battery switch. i didnt want constant power on wire so with the switch i can choose were i want the power
routed,front or back or it gives the option for both.(both not really needed for this application).this all run off a sears platinum p4

onboard air is another thing i have bin working on for a while. just need pressure sw (damn e bay), waiting over 3 weeks! my little mv 50 is struggling on its own to air up so i added a 10 gallon tank to help with the duty cycle. may have to mod this little motor later or get a better one. the beauty is the wiring and plumbing stays the same and you could easily switch one out. got lots of ideas from sites. comp and tank are mounted to a board thats mounted using the existing bolt threads for the strap tiedowns in rear cargo area. whole thing can come out as one unit if there is need for room. i didnt get to specific with pics,there are already alot of these on the net. i upgraded wire to 12gauge and it only runs about 2 ft through the floor and bugged to winch cable that goes to rear winch hookup. the system is powered up when battery sw for winch is sent to rear otherwise its dead. i didnt want a long run of wire run to front. wanted to keep the heat in the wire down. the problem is the unit and wire would get really hot and start blowing fuses really fast. this seems to help alot.

finished my on board air for now,will see how it holds up in the coming months. got a one way valve,pressure switch and also(thanx for the recomendation jd) got an unloader valve to assist in the startup of the little comp motor. this motor gets really hot! so mounted a fan and this helps a whole lot. pressure switch is 85 on 105 off. i worked it for a long time this afternoon airing up car tires and my truck tires and no problems. all the material for this setup is readily avail on ebay and more common parts are found at home depot or lowes. different wiring diagrams and setups on the net. made my setup flat so i can still close my cargo area cover.

cargo rack:aluminum rack mounted in cargo area/removes quickly(2 wing nuts)for more space.made with scrap metal in garage, great for lighter to medium weight items.

bumper/mini fog lights:small metal tubes cut at angle on one side and mounting brackets welded on inside of bumper. both mods were very cheap,had most material. purchased lights then fabbed and welded.

added 2 more lights to the rear of truck. high lift jack was relocated to inside of roof basket
to make room for were i wanted to mount lights. lights are controlled by a 3 position sw on- off- on
and located by cb. lights can come on with reverse lights or manually or not on at all.



the mounting hardware for the highlift stuck to far out for me on the side of the roof basket so with some modification
i was able to get it mounted and tucked away in the roof rack.
