It all started with the hunt for a vehicle that could be a sturdy off road vehicle, but that was also capable of towing a horse trailer. My options were the 4runner, xterra, pathfinder, and the trailblazer. I probably test drove at least ten of each vehicles; I loved the pathfinders, but it was a bit out of my budget; and I liked the overall appearance, options and towing capabilities on the trailblazer.

So, I found a 2002 with 82k miles, within a few hours drive. Drove him, fell in love. Previous owner babied the crap out of it; waxed twice a year, for the most part driven 10 miles a day for commuting. Boy was its life about to change...

First step was removing the running boards.

Next, the tires were the original tires; and were pretty much bald. Oh darn... I guess that means new tires... might as well slap some 32"s on! But then, that meant a lift. And so, I picked up MarkMcs 2.5" Lift, HD Bilsteins, BDS 5500, and Z71 springs for the back. I couldn't wait to get the tires on, because now it looked funny with small tires and a lot of wheel gap!

Next came some engine mods. Early spring 2011, I scored a deal on a K&N 57 and swapped that in. I also got the PCMForLess sale and got a tune; I didn't see a mpg increase, but did feel a bit more power.

Then, June I picked up VVME 6000k HIDs for the headlights and foglights.

Took it for a drive back to its home town of Ocean Shores for some beach driving. :flex dirty: Pulled out the camera and got some fun shots :D
