Shave down a locker?

G80, GU6, GT4, GT5, WTF? This section is for gearing and driveline stuff.

I did find a 1935 for ifs but I had another idea.
Could we take a 7.5 (more common than our 7.2) and perhaps chuck it up in a lathe and get the OD to where it'll fit?

I have some mechanic exp, but know little about differential (what makes a 7.5 a 7.5. Or an 8 an 8.lol).

Any insight would be appreciated.
If this is a possibility I can get some made for people here as-well.

Thank you..

I think you would be shaving down the outside of the ring gear and I'm guessing it might get into the ring teeth. But I think the only way is to pull both apart and start measuring :) I would love to see some more cool custom stuff on here!

As far as the 1935 (which I think is the locker for the front), I still think the entire front diff housing might not be strong enough to take that torque. Especially since it's bolted to an oil pan

:lurk:
