Cracked Front Differential

G80, GU6, GT4, GT5, WTF? This section is for gearing and driveline stuff.

yeah, pre-load, that is the term I was looking for. I also had to order a special torque wrench to measure that. It delayed me a couple of weeks before I could get the wrench and my gear guy and I could synch up again.

Alright, so while I shop around for a new differential, I decided to remove the CV axles and the prop shaft. Prop shaft took a little wiggling, but came out just fine. The CV axles on the other hand...unreal. they popped out just fine from the disconnect and the differential, but there wasn't a lot of room to get them free from the wheel hub. Took FOREVER. I do have a question though. Is there any way to cover the hole of the differential and the disconnect where the CVs were? Or am I ok just leaving them open for daily driving? I appreciate everyones input and advice by the way. Thanks again!

I think I heard something about Gatorade bottle caps. I'm not sure which size. Maybe someone else will remember better than my brain damaged retarded brain.

Don't feel bad. I didn't even think of that. I wouldn't imagine JB weld would be the best choice of adhesive...duct tape might not hold them on though. Any ideas?
