8.6's in your area

G80, GU6, GT4, GT5, WTF? This section is for gearing and driveline stuff.

Since I'm digging through yards all over my area I've grown curious, how common are 8.6's in your are and what do they typically run?

Looking on car-part.com, there are quite a few around here. Average price seems to be around $500 to $600. From what I've seen though, MI and WI have some of the best deals. Seen a plethora for around $200.

I scored one for $150 from LKQ. They are out there, just have to be diligent.

Most are in the $275-350 area. Some at the yards that deal with mainly just shops and don't care about general public sales want $5-600+.
Found one for next to nothing, just gotta free up the funds and make the trip. Was just curious what they were else where

Well there are 2 8.6 3.42 open diff at a yard about 15 minutes from me, one with 20,000 miles for $325 and the other with 24,000 for $300.

The one I want has 112,000 on it and comes without brakes but is only $125... But its 130 miles one way to go get it

just remember having an 07 you have to get the one from an 06 or newer. Unless you want to deal with a bunch of lights and codes.

Not all yards are on car-part.com. Check out your local yards as well. The one I got wasn't on the web page.

Mine isn't on their site either, but the yard does have other stuff on there. I've made A LOT of calls to find it.

sucks that Rogers City is so far away and gas prices suck, I'd bring you one just to make the trip up north lol

Just when I think there's no hope for the newbs Dustin spends some time on here and shows you can join up and contribute instead of being a drain. It's refreshing.

I've posted a few newb questions, just double checking thing though. Everything on the trailblazer has been easy or a direct swap, I'm still in shock
Coming from building my moms ranger for her and building go fast vehicles where every little change meant a ton of additional work... This just seems to good to be true

I might have to give a few local ones a call if this be the case.
