Most people I go with have 32's or 34's, but I was saying that from a Trailblazer standpoint.

Edit: The first post was also sarcasm...

this is going to be an awesome build
I know you have to build what you got but I'm just curious if this would have been an easier if it had been a 2WD?

Not really, trans would need converted to 4x4, and that's really about it, so its about the same. Also there aren't any 2wds around here.

Did you have to extend the steering shaft for the body lift?

He previously stated with the built in slip he felt ok with adding the inch of lift.

That pesky oil pan....

Looks like there is going to be some custom work on that big thing. About the only way to clear it, is run about 14" of suspension lift. Thats just too tall.

At least with the axle Im running, the diff itself will be offset enough to the drivers side to clear. Now I just have the issue of axle tube to drain plug. (Im pushing the axle forward 4-6")

On a positive note, it looks like there will be about 1/4" clearance between the dual cases and the fuel tank when complete.

And I got my 231 all torn down for the cut and welding of the block-off plate.

Im hoping to get the doubler in this weekend?

You mean 1/4" at full torque, or 1/4" static?

Either, thats from the back of the 2nd case to the front of the fuel tank. If the motor is moving forward and back 1/4" I have problems.

Somebody on the Other Site was offering a group buy on oil pans for folks using the 4.2 engine in other vehicles. With the drain at the other side. That (or a custom oil pan) might solve your problem.

I shared the link to this when he first came aboard with serious intentions.

Fyi..if it helps cost I may be willing to pony up for an oil pan since I will definitely need one someday...soon I hope.
