Another 8" GT4 with G80 spider gear chipped tooth

G80, GU6, GT4, GT5, WTF? This section is for gearing and driveline stuff.

Hey guys, inspecting my rear diff and found a missing tooth on the spider gear. As I live in france I just can't go to the junkyard and find an axle or get a 8.6 to swap, because there are not so many chevys right here.
Any advices or good internet link to get what I need ,without killing my wallet with shipping.
Thanks community

Unfortunately, I think your only real option is a new set of spider gears. That broken tooth has likely done some damage to the other gears.
I would also be concerned as to where the remnants of that broken tooth went. She's gonna have to come out of there!

That's the plan I have, but my question is; does the 8" with G80 have a specific part # for spiders or is it regular set as opend diffs ?

I'm sorry, sir, but that I really don't know. If you have a Facebook (or Meta as it's called now) account you may want to join the group over there. That seems to be where most people went. I don't do social media, so I'm an outcast.

Decided to go ahead and disasemble the pumpkin to see if all other parts are serviceable and decide if this 8" worth a nex set of spider gears,

So take a look to the attachement, anybody have an experience with those parts and could tell me if they're ok or not ?

Thanks community !!!!

my question is, on the ride plates pack , they look shinny and mostly smooth

on the left pack, side with slotted device under pignon to get pressure on plates, they look more rough
