New Pioneer Headunit

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

I saved up some money for work, and got my self a brand new top of the line "Flag Ship" receiver from Pioneer. its the Avic-Z110BT

I love it!, it does everything, and I can use voice control to control about anything I hook up to it.

I also bought some extras:

1. Sirius sat radio
2. MSN dirrect tunner
3. Bypass kit to allow dvd function while driving, among other features

The navigation functions and emission readouts, along with full trip functions are amazing. it even has a driver habit program to tell you how much you abuse the throttle and brakes.
i love how it tells me how much gas i will need to get somewhere. plus it updates the routes to traffic and weather so hopefully it will get to and from places faster, and save me gas by not sitting in traffic. it worked great during my long cross country drive.

sirius never once lost reception, the gps unit worked great, with only a few little hickups. i love having all of my music on a SD card! i never run out of good stuff to listen to now, and never have to worry about scratched cd's, or ever looking through a case again!

ill get pics up asap!

all you need is 1 adapater . if ou look at the products offered by axxess, they have single units tha do more then one thing.

for instance. mine retains door chimes and onstar in the same unit. and the gmos5 unit adds the option for those that have the bosse stereo.

Hmm I guess I will have to look into it again, last time I was at a stereo shop they talked about 4-5 different adapters I needed, and basically blew me off saying it was too spendy to do one of these trucks.... I pretty much just left it as that, since I didn't really need anything aftermarket.. but now my stock units lights are starting to go out!..

Can I ask how much that unit cost you?

i got the unit at a nice discount. but i believe the msrp is around $1700. My cost was 2grand maybe just a bit more for the head unit, antenna adapter, axxess module, mounting kit, siruis interface and tuner, and msn direct tuner.

the only thing i need now is a tv tuner or sat receiver, and the rear view camera with built in sensor to let me know if i am gona hit shit hahaha.

its a great unit. check it out on pioneers website. it has a ton of features.

:awesome: wow! You could have got 2 sets of coilovers!! Or one set and a roof-top tent. Or a custom bumper.... I love good tunes, but not that much at this point in time!! Maybe when my stock stereo is completely dead....

Ya, it is a lot of cash but I spend a lot of time in my truck, and had a huge cross country drive coming up. Plus I drive a lot of elite people of the industry I work in, so it makes the truck more comfortable for the clients too.

i also wanted a unit with BT, and GPS, and USB among a lot of other things. And this was the only unit that came with all of that built in, and had a gps that i liked.

Those Avic units are awesome, but just like the others, I can't justify spending that much cash for one of those... more likely for me would be a car pc with all sorts of other goodies as well, including a copy of Topo or Overland Navigator

ya i have thought about those car pc's. not familiar with the stuff though. i also have a ram mount lap top mount for the truck and will be running my topo software off of that. i much prefer a 15"+ screen for maps and what not so i can see as much info as possible.

Cool! I still love my Avic even tho it's getting a bit outdated now. It really beats the hassle of a larger car computer for the majority of our daily lives - plus satellite radio :D

I'm happy for you.

But all I can say is that if I had 2k to spend on my vehicle it would be on A: custom front bumper B: bigger tires C: whatever is left would go into rock sliders and skid plates.

ETA: I had Sirus radio a while back and I really loved it.

ehhh.....all the mods will come together in time hahaha. new bumpers would be nice, but are not a necessity yet. but some armor under the truck would be really nice. that stuff is def. top on my list of crap to get.

I think I helped Zero's priority setting this weekend by letting him drive up about the toughest trail in Borrego that he could do (Calcite Mine Trail), and by having him park and ride shotgun with me while I did the toughest I could do (Coyote Canyon bypass). I suspect his mission doesn't include a regular need (obsession) with stuff like Coyote Canyon. :excited: But to his extreme credit, he didn't whine and whimper like a little girl as another former TB owner (long gone) rider I had did. Riding shotgun and stacking rocks on that trail in Roadiemobile Rev 1, where we were never sure of success (and the trail was a bit tougher), got Teebes obsessed, I think. Now with 33's, it's just a walk in the park with no drama.
