Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Wire LED bar into factory fog light harness.

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

I have a 30" LED light bar, and factory fog lights. I've removed my bumper cover, and it's not going back on.

So, for simplicity and ease, is there any reason I can't just wire this into the factory harness at the bumper? I'm assuming I already have the appropriate relay and everything.

I suppose it would mostly come down to the amperage draw of the light bar, if the wiring will handle it, then sure.

Just make sure your bar draws less than 110 watts. You go much above that and you'll likely blow your foglight fuse.

i did the same thing, used factory wiring to hook up lights. the only draw back is they won't turn on with the hi beams. i was wondering if this could be by-passed or i might just run a new circuit.

Yes, I would also like to be able to activate mine independently, I'm pretty sure some swapping of wires on the relay would allow it, but I'm no electrical engineer. I'm guess, with no diagram, that the foglight relay is powered from the low beam circuit.

It could be at the switch or the relay. Most likely the switch, the relay will likely draw its main power as directly as possible from the +12 pole. Then again, it could be controlled by some computer.

You could always run a jumper wire in the fuse box. I did this in my dodge. 10 or 15 amp fuse ( I can't remember) with two wires attached, on under the high beam fuse another under the fog light fuse.
