the radio is no wouxon by any means & I thought my wouxons were cheaply made compared to my Icoms

in my home I can hardly hear or access the repeater that the others can

selectivity seems nill

its really a cheap radio & I'm surprised people actually like them, if you're willing to make sacrifices

it is what it is & just my opinion

I have the UV-5RA that I use all the time at work and it's great. Espcially for the cheap price they are.

I am not a big fan of the Baofengs. They are a decent cheap, disposable radio. People use them on Search and Rescue due to the cost of the radio but at an expense. Also if they get damaged it is not worth doing much in repairs, especially the UV-5 series.

OK I did that but I fail to see any difference except in the squelch which was a plus

So you loosened up the squelch? We have had times when we program them and they don't seem to take the programming correctly. We have simply reprogrammed them and then it worked.
