5" round LED lights

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

So, I have these big 5" holes for lights in my front bumper. I kinda knew before I put them in that i should of went with 2" but whatever.

Does anyone make a 5" round LED driving light? Or what is the current recommendation for a 5" driving light?

What are you willing to pay? The more you're willing to pay, the better the LED beam you'll find.

You can find some cheap 5" flood lamps that will fit and look good, but won't do much for your driving vision.

Otherwise Vision-X makes some nice LED 5" spots that would be pretty sweet in a bumper.

Some euro covers for on road would be nice for driving.

No problem spending money for good lighting

I like those. They seem like a solid round LED light option.

As with anything, lighting aligns particularly well with the moniker, you get what you pay for. Total light output can be achieved by anyone, but usable light output is difficult, especially with LED. My roof light-bars for instance were relatively cheap, and the light output isn't super useful. But my Hella 4000s were not cheap, and they continue to impress me every time I turn them on.

Definitely sounds like they could work well. Hope you get them in and tested soon!

light wise, these have a very nice output and the covers change the beam patten very well.

They also fit exactly in the 5" bumper holes. These will work and look great as long as i don't get a bad center shadow from the recessed holes.

There are some issues with my install and these lights in general.

since the fit in the holes is so tight, i won't be able to remove or change the covers without pulling the light. this isn't a huge issue as i don't plan on changing the lens often.

the bigger issue is the mounting. the lenses only have 3 tabs so you can't have the covers face the right way and under mount them. this isn't just an issue with the logo being upside down, the lens changes the beam patten so they should be mounted correctly. i will have to see what i can fab up for the mounting bracket.

the glowing logo on the lights looks kinda cool. not really my thing but not a deal breaker

They look good. Looks like you got them oriented the correct way. Is the glowing logo something on the cover? Do you have to use the cover? I'd like to see some comparison shots with the various covers in place. Glad they fit.

it was just set in the hole to test for fit. the logo is on the covers not the actual light. you don't have to use the cover but it helps protect the light and changes the beam patten.

without a cover you just get a 10 degree spot. the covers i have change the beam to a euro driving pattern. i believe all the covers have the logo. I'll get some beam shots when i get home.

So the covers orient into the lights, slot-tab style and cannot be rotated independant of the light housing? My big ones have some covers with 3 tabs, but they don't really have a set orientation, and could be clocked independent of the light housing.

correct, there are indents in the housing that the trabs from the covers fit into. a 4 tab system would of been better

I don't think these will be going in the bumper holes. I will likely be mounting these on the top of the bumper. There are a few reasons for this..

1. there is a pretty decent shadow cast in the center of the vehicle from the recessed mounting.
2. These are nice lights and I can see getting different covers and don't want to have to remove the lights to swap them
3. mounting will be easier on top of the bumper due to the required orientation.
4. I can get some standard lights to fill the recessed bumper holes that will look good without loosing some of the key features of the light cannons.

The right tool for the right job, and these are too good to hide in a hole.

That euro beam cover does a good job of spreading the light out. Looks like the pencil beam is made for very long range, unless I'm mistaken by the perspective.
