Trans Temp Gauge wiring question

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

Hello all .
I am looking for some info on the fuses under the rear pass seat .
I am installing a trans temp gauge in the dash and want to tap into power in that fusebox .

I need to know which fuse number is the circuit for the dash lighting that is dimmable through the switch on the dash . This will be to have the trans temp gauge lit at the same brightness as the oem gauges .

Also was going to tap into the stereo circuit at the fusebox to supply the 12volt power .

Gonna be using add a cicuit :

Already bought these at oreilys for 6.99 each .

Hiya, James!

TBC2 and TBC3 are the dimmable lamp circuit fuses going into the BCM. One is for incandescent lamps and the other is meant for LEDs, since the dimming profile is slightly different for incandescent (50% PWM power to an incandescent gives you less than 50% brightness, where on a LED it's linear.)

However, this won't do what you want because the fuse is BEFORE the BCM do the signals aren't the dimmed ones you need. You have to tap into a dimmed lamp wire in the dash area somewhere on another switch or something. Is your trans temp gauge LED or not? I can help you find the right wire if I knew that. The back of the radio might be the right place.

Thanks Bill .
Its the Auto Meter gauge with LED .

Glad I asked before I started fumbling around with trial and error .
Let me know the best way . Is there a splice connector you recommend also ??

Oh and my transmission went out :pale: . Having a rebuilt one with heavy duty parts sent from Performabuilt . Should be here by next week . This is why the dedicated gauge is going in .

Excuse this unrelated question, but do you have an aftermarket transfer case of some sort?

I was going to mention the radio. Mine has wear on the on/off and the lower one that you press to get more data on XM tunes. I don't have XM any more, but I used to hit that button all the time. Your wear is different. I can't see hitting where you hit it.
